New House

Shailaja's dad is buying a new house in Ramapuram, Chennai. Its a house built on 1200Sqft of land.

The house is built in such a way, that it can be treated as two separate dwellings or combined into one big house. Only a door makes all the difference. Individually the house is a two floor apartment.

Ground Floor (Level 0): Living room, Kitchen, Service area and a Bedroom with bathroom.
1 Floor (Level 1): Living room, Kitchen, 2 bedrooms with attached bathroom
2 Floor (Level 2): Open terrace with one common toilet.

But when the house is occupied as one, it turns to..1 Hall, 1 Living room, 1 Kitchen, 3 Bdr + Bathroom, 1 Study/Bed room, 1 Service area and a toilet on open terrace. Oh by the way, did i mention a parking area for 2 cars (small cars) or 1 car and 3 motor bikes.

It surprises me how a 1200Sqft area can accomodate some much. Well the secret is, there is almost no space around. There is a perimeter wall 2 foot on the front and barely 1 foot on the back of the house, but that's it. I have to give it to the promoter of the building, who planned this really well.

Shailu, Surya and myself will be occupying the house for the next few years. Currently there is no plan to let out a portion of the house, but that could change depending on how safe or manageable the house is.

House warming is planned around first week of March and when that is decided i will send out invitations to every one. Please come if your are in the town or visiting and bless us all.
