Surya Second Birthday

Hi y' all,

Its been some time since i updated this blog. Sorry for keeping you guys waiting. But i guess the wait is worth it, because here i am with yet another important event of our life. Its Surya's Second Birthday party.

It was not all that huge as the first birthday party, but never-the-less, this was unique in its own kind.

We had the party arranged in a kids play joint called "Lets Jump". Its an indoor arena full of all kinds of Jumping castles, Combo Hurdles and plain fun bouncers and slides. Surya liked this place the first time we came here. Immediately, this place felt like the best place where he would have wanted his Birthday Party. And be hold it was. He had some of his other freinds come over too and they all had the fun of their life here. Even parents liked it too.

His party was so much fun and myself along with Surya and Shailu thank all that came to make this the best party yet.

Dead like me..TV Show

Ever watched the TV serial "Dead like me"? If you haven't, give it a shot.

Georgia "George" Lass (ELLEN MUTH) is a young college drop-out who has no job skills and seems unable to take an interest in anything, including her own life. She cultivates an air of cynicism that infuriates her mother, baffles her father, and isolates her younger sister. George is about to get a wake-up call.
With her mother Joy (CYNTHIA STEVENSON) insisting that she get a job, George applies to a temp agency that sends her out as a file clerk. Her lunch break - and her life - are cut short when a toilet seat from the MIR space station drives her into the pavement. George does not realize that she is dead until Rube (MANDY PATINKIN), the kindly leader of a team of grim reapers, points out her remains. Rube takes George under his wing and introduces her to the other members of his undead group: Mason (CALLUM BLUE), Roxy (JASMINE GUY) and Betty (REBECCA GAYHEART).
The members of Rube's team of reapers are all, like George, people who died with unresolved issues. They still have lessons to learn that - for one reason or another - they failed to learn in life. They move about the Pacific Northwest in the full light of day. They walk the city streets and eat at all-night diners, just like anyone else. They have to find somewhere to live, cook, eat and do their laundry. They look just like everyone else but as grim reapers they appear physically different to the living than they did when they were alive.
What George experiences beyond death is the focus of this darkly comedic series. It takes a slightly twisted look at life and at one possible version of life in the after life. What if death is not the end? What if it is not even an escape from the issues that plagued us? What if it is not a way to avoid accountability, but an opportunity to accept responsibility? What if it is a wake-up call?

....Ohh by the way, i enjoy the short phrases with which the show ends every week...Here is one below from last week..

Snow in Fort Worth (Part - I)

Unlike as its supposed to be, it does snow once in a while in Fort Worth, Texas.

Shailu and Surya missed the first snow of the season in November, since they went to Lexington, Kentucky at that time. That was also supposed to be Surya's first snow.

In lieu of that, today's (Jan/17/2007) snow is Surya's de-facto first snow of his life time. It was infact a better one than the snow of Nov/05, so no hard-feelings.

Despite shailu's protest, i wanted to take him out in the snow. Shailu only agreed to it, if i don't make him touch the snow or get wet, since he already has cold. She has a valid point.

I did bring some snow into the house, so he can feel it from the comfort of home. But he did not seem to care much about the snow. I guess he is like his mom. They both don't like cold temperatures. Lets see how he grows out to be.

Picture to the left here, is Surya with snow in front of him. He did not like it, and he almost tipped it over on to the carpet.

Picture to the right here is our car covered in snow. At the time this picture was taken, there was not so much snow. It gradually increased over time.

Surya became a little restless with all that dressing on him. I must admit, all that shirt on shirt and that thick jacket would definitely drive me crazy. May be we over did it.

Some kids playing on the basket ball court, Well what used to be a basket ball court. For texas this is lot of snow.

Did the doctor who delivered our baby make a wrong call?

Because judging by the looks of this beauty, it can definitely be a baby girl.

We always wanted a girl baby and since surya turned up instead, shailu wanted to see how he would look if dressed girly.

Hi all,

Ever come accross a situation when you felt a long weekend is just boring anymore? Well i have one here.

Its on the day after new year (2007). President Bush has declared a State holiday to pay homage in memory of Late President Ford, who, like died 3 days ago.

Its raining outside and its cold. So i have four days of leave and nothing in plan to do. BORING.

Bringing up kids has its portion of Awes and No's. They do things that just give us a massive heart attack. I bet i did my part when i was young..haan Mom/Dad?!

In the photo here , surya is on the ottoman holding a chappati roller in his hand.

Its not the climbing that is an issue, but its the dancing that gives me the heebie-jeebies. He gives me the jitters that would just make me faint.

Yes, he has fallen a couple of times, but gets back on top of it in a jiffy.

As long as he is safe we are okay.

{New Update: He inverts that ottoman and throws the remote, phone, his toys etc and rolls that ottoman, like it is some kind of rolling machine}

Surya plays BLOCKS

Its been some nice time for Surya. His latest activity is playing with BLOCKS. He has been working on some serious Hand-Eye coordination lately.

Today he managed to club them BLOCKS together. Not just once or twice , but again and again, and he knew exactly what he was doing.

I will update some photos very soon with him in action. Until than, sit tight and hold to the thought.
